The Previous System
The existing roof system consisted of Redland 49 tiles, batten & slate felt. There was water ingress into the property from the tiles and the boxed in pipe that abutted the wall.
The Solution
We erected a scaffold to provide safe access. We then stripped off the existing felt, batten & tiles. We constructed a new timber detail around the pipe & cladded this with code 5 lead. We installed 100mm insulation in-between existing joists & laid new Tyvek felt. The roof was cross battened to allow ventilation & air flow. A new Velux roof light was installed, as the previous one was defective. Finally, we installed new Redland 49 tiles & new code 4 lead cover flashings.
